![]() Predictably, I spent the night smiling at people, clapping along, but only talking to my husband. That's what writer/introverts do! It was a great time. Strangely enough, the only people I had a conversation with (beyond social niceties-plenty of those) was the editorial editor of my local paper @StarNews, which I've read religiously since we moved to Wilmington, NC. I couldn't believe my luck! His wife is the one that introduced us, because for some reason she cut me from the herd of other women in the crush of a party. It was around ten o'clock, things were winding down, and we two couples just gabbed. It was wonderful. The Wilma Magazine organizers outdid themselves. So much love and appreciation in that room. I was proud to be among the women receiving awards and recognition for their hard work. The food was amazing! A live band! Dance floor! Mike and I danced until we were dizzy! When it was over and we were driving away, Mike suggested go through the drive thru and buy a Whopper. SMH I couldn't believe it! We'd just had the most tender prime rib, pumpkin risotto, roasted root vegetables, and a Caesar salad, topped off with free beer and dessert shooters! Mike lifts heavy weights. Heavy weights. The portion sizes were snack size to him, but they were perfect for me. The whole night was perfect. #WilmaMagazine #WomenToWatch2018.
